Bio
My name is Dwayne Massey. I have been employed as a professor at several universities in the southeastern United States. My primary teaching areas included sport psychology, strength and conditioning, sport sociology, coaching education, and sport administration among others. I received all my degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). These include a B.S. in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work, a masters degree in Social Work (MSW), and a doctorate in the administration and teaching of Physical Education (Ed.D). In pursuing my doctorate, I received addition cognate specializations in the areas of Sport Psychology and Strength and Conditioning. I currently hold the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the state of Mississippi. While enrolled at USM I had the opportunity to play collegiate football, and after my eligibility was completed, I was a free agent signee and tried out with several NFL teams. I have had the privilege to have numerous articles published in peer review schoralrly journals on a variety of topics related to sports.
